Hey guys,

[NOTE: initially cross-posted, please subscribe to the plug-org mailing list
if you want to participate in the development of the local (Philippine)
Software Freemdom Day activities.]

The floor is now open for sponsorships, contributions, volunteers, ideas,
etc., on how you want us to celebrate the SFD in the Philippines.

The SFD will be on August 28, 2004, so we have just the right amount of time
to organize something appropriate to quench your innermost longings to tell
your parents, your classmates, your co-workers, your girlfriends (or
boyfriends), or a stranger about FOSS, including GNU/Linux. Something along
the lines of, or greater than LINUX10.

Initially, I am thinking of giving away a 2-CD Software Freedom Starter Pack
with 1) Knoppix or MandrakeMove, and 2) the OpenCD. So we'll need a *LOT* of
CDR and burner volunteers. If budget permits, maybe we can even throw in a
FOSS shirt as well.

I was thinking of fielding people clad in tux-shirts, in schools, malls, and
sidewalks, handing "Software Freedom Starter Packs" to unsuspecting
pedestrians while looking straight into their eyes and uttering the words
"Fish are friends, not food"... OK, so I haven't thought of a real catchy
FOSS-ish slogan yet. That's one of the things we can talk about at the
plug-org hangout.
