Yes, but that should only be once for each JSP, so it isn't a factor for consideration, imho.
Hmm. Then we were doing something very wrong in my previous setup because our RedHat 7.2/Tomcat 4.1.27/MySQL 3.23.58 was always running out of file handles. Anyway, I'm getting off-topic.
After describing Fedora as Red Hat's experimental distro, I managed to convince our CTO to fork the extra money for RHEL3.
