hi all,

last night i suddenly started receiving email addresses (mostly in spamtraps
but also in my real addresses, since i receive spam there too) that end in
@ but with no domain part. i get the following error in my logs:

fetchmail: SMTP error: 450 <esteban.@>: Sender address rejected:
User unknown in local recipient table

this is making mail processing slow (not sure why, it first has to scan the
local users to see if the user exists there?).

is there a simple way to disallow email addresses of that form? or is it
a bad idea to disallow that form and therefore i should just deal with the
slowness?

anyone know what kind of malware is sending out this crap?

thanks for any information.
