As far as I can recall this issue has been left hanging for several years already. But it was only last year that it has gained some momentum. It would be such a waste if all the hard work to achieve a community-led registry fail. If you read through the arguments, there is no question about the best thing to do. I hope other organizations outside of those in ph-cyberview can also make a stand on this issue. A lot is at stake. As an individual, I just made my stand and registered with a different TLD.
