have you tried specifying the correct root partition on grub config file located at  /boot/grub/grub.conf   ?

hi ariz,

this is the error I received.

VFS: Cannot open device "LABEL=/" or unknown-block(0,0)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

this maybe just an error on my grub. I haven't thought of it much. I maybe
have mistake in my way of creating the initrd-2.6.6.
I use the command mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.6.img 2.6.6 while I am running on
kernel 2.4. It is supposed to be mkinitrd -k vmlinux-VERSION -i
initrd-VERSION in Suse.

Maybe you could help me the syntax for that command in redhat.
