Hi pluggers, I need help. My squid is being overwhelm by request from windoze users. Log are as follows:
2004.6.23 15:15:07 - 192.168.10.100 http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ident.cab *DENIED* Your IP address is not allowed to web browse: 192.168.10.100 HEAD 0
If 192.168.10.0/24 is your LAN, Then it is normal, if you have for example:
acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 http_access deny all
then it is just logging unsuccesfull requests from your LAN.
How can I prevent this? iptables? edit registry? anybody got the same problem?
If you are worried about overhead, or you dont even want your LAN to send request to your squidbox, then yes, you can use iptables to block your LAN on a firewall level.
