Just set it an FTP server and let the students install via FTP. That should work.

Can you please help me or refer me to a site on
setting  up a file server?  I am a custodian in a
computer lab. Because of limited resources I cannot
lend all of our students a CDROM drive to install
their preferred linux.  I think NFS will help solve
this problem.
