I don't know of any resources, but let me cover the basics:

1. Learn how to use iso's directly.  This means if you have a CD, you
use "dd if=/dev/hdc of=file.iso" to copy the iso image off.  You may
also be downloading iso images.

2. Learn how to loop mount the iso's.  This makes it easy to "update",
since you just need to unmount, copy in the new iso, and remount.

mount -o loop file.iso /mnt/suse

3. Make your distro farm available via ftp/http/nfs.  Those are the main
three ways of getting at installation sources.  ftp is probably easiest,
but ftp is always dangerous.  http isn't difficult, but it's a bit
slower.  nfs is fast and pretty easy to set up.
