You may be interested in a more generic tool for service monitoring called mon <http://www.kernel.org/software/mon/>. It's easy enough to use and has built in scripts for the most common actions, which include sending out mail of course. If you don't need a full-blown MTA software on your system you can use nullmailer <http://untroubled.org/nullmailer/> since you'll need an MTA to bring out the mail from your machine to some mail server that will handle sending the mail to your mailbox. --> Jijo -- Federico Sevilla III : jijo.free.net.ph : When we speak of free software GNU/Linux Specialist : GnuPG 0x93B746BE : we refer to freedom, not price. -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
