Hello,
I am currently using an ASUS CUSL-2M mobo, dual-booting WinXP and Fedora Core 2. On both OSes, all components are working fine. Sound is detected as AC97-compatible, onboard NIC is a 3Com 3C90x, chipset is an i815. I also have an older P2B-F mobo that I used to study Linux.
IMO I think this is true only for those ASUS mobos that use that particular network controller. If the reported incident is true, then I'd assume that it's not only ASUS' Linux support that sucks -- it's a LOT bigger issue than that.
