the machine that will benefit from this setup is the one that will run a process-oriented application (not threaded) since the processes will be migrated to other machines that have lesser load. visit the openmosix website then check if the applications that you intend to run will benefit from an openmosix-based HPC cluster setup.
i've read before that openmosix is typically applied to an LTSP setup. in our case, we applied openmosix on our failover clusters just to utilize the idle computing power of the backup machine.
