No, it won't break. :)

(How do I know? I have a Debian Sid box with a custom-built 2.4.26 Linux
kernel and do regular dist-upgrades to synchronize with the latest Sid
and the kernel part doesn't break. Of course parts of the system
sometimes do; it's part of the whole "Unstable" thrill.)
