As said here and elsewhere, `use the source, Luke!' :) Indeed, it seems to be
the way the technology world works: Like the adage `give a man fish so he'll
eat for a day; give a man knowledge on how to fish and he'll eat a lifetime',
FOSS gives you the fishing rod, complete with hook, line and sinker, to catch
both the small fish of hobbyists and liberals, and the big fish of
multinationals earning big. Closed and shackled software doesn't give you
that, although you might make a free meal out of it, that won't be always the
case.

Let's all hope for the *impossible* to happen. Jesus managed to get back from
the dead, and that's the corpus delicti of `nothing's impossible', just
perilously difficult...

I attended only the first day (but I went back there today for the exhibits,
which are free ;) and went into the LAMP BOF. I was a bit so-so. Well, I
wouldn't really blame anyone here, 'coz it was the first time such an event
happened here... but the BOF on Security was great! Just forgot to tell
everybody there that ipv6 on 2.6.8.1 is borked (on Freenet6, haven't tried on
other 6bones yet :( and that the closest thing to an `OpenBSD Linux' would be
OpenWall GNU+Linux (http://www.openwall.org/Owl), which was billed by Phrack
(somewhere in the 60s issues) as the ``most secure'' Linux distro as evaluated
by Blackhats. Well, I guess we all know that there's no such thing as complete
and utter security into any OS, just ``trust'' in the code and in the name...

Cheers,
Zakame

PS: I'm now using Knoppix on my cousin's aging desktop (pentiumII with 64MB
SDRAM). And it _still_is fast!
