sir, i do not have any control of those who post non-technical, non-linux subjects here.

:) i never said anybody has that kind of control. if somebody did then we wont be discussing it anymore. and drop the sir. im one of the mid-newbies.

when i said, "i hope the PLUG members don't mind" i only meant sending the invitation/announcement to organize a linux user group. after we get that going, we won't be using this list for our own organizational matters, "non-technical", and "non-linux" issues. c'mon, it's only one email announcement, what should be the big deal? :)

i agree with you on that point. an announcement is welcome. the ensuing mindless one-liners is the "big-deal" for some of us. call us anal but we dont have the resources (time, bandwidth, etc.) like the rest of the gifted population.

nonetheless, i'm cross-posting this to plug-org. for those who have been following this thread, let's subscribe to that list and continue the discussion there.

im also stopping here. i usually send reminders because im one of those affected. i dont mean to offend anybody. its just that i find it as a natural human (if not filipino) mindset to keep on bending the rules because 'everybody is doing it'. and i dont mean you.

hehehe. to long a comment for something that starts with 'im also stopping here'. <grin.

ciao!
