In contrast, if I understand correctly, the Philippine president's
position is more hands-off, "I cannot or do not want to dictate or
advocate or control", no? Another case of too much "democracy" in
Philippines, not enough leadership/vision/political will?
I'm not really a fan of GMA, but I think it's quite understandable
that she'd take a hands-off approach to it.
She's an economist, as compared to the President of India who apparently
is a technical person.
