Thank you, if amvisd-new is the best antivirus engines for now.

I will have to proceed with my amavisd-new testing.

Thank you again,
Marc

Marc,

IMHO, Amavisd-new maybe is the best GPL frontend for antivirus engines
and spamassassin for Postfix, also it is worthy to note that the author
of amavisd-new, Marc Martinec is also postfix user itself.

The other well known emailscanner available for postfix is MailScanner,
http://www.sng.ecs.soton.ac.uk/mailscanner/.
But Wietse Venema, the author of postfix does not recommend the use of
it because of the way it handles the mail queues. Also it is very
difficult to get or you will not get any technical support at all from
the postfix mailing list if you are using MailScanner.

Tips if you will use amavisd-new:
1. Make sure you are not using an ancient version of perl.
2. Make sure to use the latest perl modules (using CPAN)
3. Make sure to use the latest version of the external programs
mentioned in the INSTALL file and
4. Make sure to use the latest version of the file utility.

regards,
Kenneth
