No scripts necessary. On the forwarder machine, ensure that /etc/ssh/sshd_config has: AllowTcpForwarding yes To set up the tunnel and not open a shell; allow connections from anywhere, not just localhost; and listen on port 2222; use the selected cipher (default 3des); and forward to 22 to the other side: ssh -N -g -c [3des|blowfish] -L 2222:localhost [EMAIL PROTECTED] Then to use this port 2222 for scp from another machine: scp -P 2222 [EMAIL PROTECTED] or for sftp: sftp -oPort=2222 [EMAIL PROTECTED] or for lftp: lftp fish://[EMAIL PROTECTED]:2222/ A caveat: ssh stores host keys based on hostname/IP, not including the port. So if the tunnelhost's regular (port 22) key is stored, ssh will complain when it receives the key for forwarderhost. -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
