Cheapo hubs/switches. Have the cnet hubs for dirt cheap, and it works like dirt cheap too. :)
These cheap hubs/switches works well stealthily, like at 30% network utilization. But push them to 50% or higher, it exhibits problems like hanging and extremely slow (we are talking 3-8KB/sec here) file access after a few minutes of file transfers especially with huge 650Mb files. what you can do is quickly try another high quality hub/switch and see if it goes away, or run ethereal on Linux and ethereal/winpcap combo in windows to see what's happening. regards, Andre On Sat, 30 Oct 2004 02:45:16 +0800, Roger Filomeno <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Ok. > > But my WinXP machine machine works fine connecting to winXP virtual > drives, it just fails when im connecting to samba :(( > > > > > On Sat, 30 Oct 2004 02:01:54 +0800, Edel SM <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > a hub/switch intermittent problem perhaps, the fact that it worked by > > connecting them directly nic-to-nic. > > > > -- > > Edelberto S.
