The problem with this solution is that whenever people
bookmark your website, they'll get something like
http://mydomain.com/mywebsite
instead of just
http://mydomain.com

Talking about bookmarks, philstar.com does the 
similar thing by redirecting visitors to the present
day's index page. For example today, I get
http://www.philstar.com/philstar/index20041119.htm

So when people decide to bookmark their page, they
will bookmark that particular day's page which is really bad.
The next day the visitor clicks the bookmark, it goes to
that day's page and not to the present day's page.
For a regular non-technical user, they might think the
page wasn't updated.

I've emailed philstar about it and never got a reply.
