        Already tried this. 

        A. You have to set your remote mobile to accepts data gsm
        calls, you'll have to contact sun service for this.
        B. You will not be cut off after every 15 minutes *but*
        C. You will pay normal sun-to-sun voice call rates, as data
        calls are not covered in suns 24/7 promo. Sun considers gsm data
        calls as value added services and charged as such.

        Though sun's 24/7 is a boon to a centralized log servers' sms alerts 
:-).
