I would love to get a better idea of what you really need. If in case
the application just does a "system("telnet host")" then it should be
easily remedied. Otherwise, I don't see how it uses telnet inside the
application. Maybe it uses a socket connection with plain text being
sent from end to end.

Then again this is all speculation. :D
