Running Win2K in VirtualBox on Slackware. I ran lsusb and saw that

After installing guest additions I plugged in my USB foot pedal, but
VirtualBox sees no USB devices. in the USB settings for the virtual
machine, Enable USB Controller, while checked, is grayed out. the radio
button for USB1.1 is selected. But when I right click on the USB icon at
the bottom of the VirtualBox window, it says, "No USB Devices
Connected." I was able to create a USB Device Filter for the foot pedal,
copying the information I have in my Win7 virtual machine running on my
desktop. But that didn't help.

Is there something else I need to do to implement USB support in
VirtualBox for Slackware? On Ubuntu I had to use the version from
Oracle, not the open source version.

Although we added the vboxusers group, I think wee forgot to add your
user to that group:

usermod -a -G vboxusers <user>

I did add myself to vboxusers, although I did usermod -aG vboxusers rsteff.

My spell checker wants to make vboxusers trousers. :-)

here is a good troubleshooting guide:

I'll look into those the next time I have free time. I've got work for tomorrow, and likely will Thu and Fri, so it may not be until the weekend.
