The MFC-L8850CDW is a little pricier than I want to go but I did find MFC-9340CDW.

Your recommendation comes up monochrome so out of the running. :-)

LED or laser (not inkjet), color, multifunction ie. scanning (SANE).
Nice would be duplex print and duplex scan would be icing.
