Don't forget, too, that many younger folks live on their phones so they
experience life via whatever wi-fi or telcom hot spot is closest to them.
They make no use of wired connections so they don't care.

Maybe I'm just an aged out techie turned hippy but I often think that high
speed internet & technology does way more damage to humanity, civilization
and our shared life support system and doesn't really deliver all the good
that it promises and people willing shell out lots of their hard earned
cash for.

Don't blame the technology; this is a people issue. You probably wouldn't
blame the auto industry for the distracted, drunk, or plain incompetent
drivers who cause accidents harming (and killing) others.

There always have been, still are, and always will be those who use a
benign technology to harm others or benefit only themselves. It's just how
people are.
