The 1st says they always ask first, as if asking for consent to participate the 2nd says we'll do this unless you choose to opt-out. What concerns me most right now, is that I can't find any reference to collection of usage data / behaviometrics within the Free Software Foundation's constitution. Which to me means one of a few things, their docs are out of date, they have yet to address it, they don't think it's a problem, or they consider it malware, or they leave it up to the app devs & users to sort out. If I was an ethical dev with a strong desire to write good software, I'd want as much non-personal identifying user experience data I could. But that leaves a lot of room for bad actors to play around in. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
