Chuck, Look in /etc/cups/ppd/ or the chromebook equivalent. That should have all your available printers. These are ASCII text configuration files. Somewhere in there you'll find various paper sizes; change A4 to Letter and see what happens (after backing up the unmodified file, of course.)
