I will be hosting an online meeting demonstration on Friday from 1200-1300L. I will be showing documents, applications, portions of a PowerPoint slide show, and my recent POTA activation video. I will entertain questions and comments. You may log in at anytime and stay as long as you like.
This will basically be an example of what an online virtual club meeting may be like. For those not available at this time, I can repeat at other times. The demo is best with several attendees, although it will work with just one besides the host. If you want another demo, try to get a couple others to join us at that time. These instructions are for PC and Linux users. For now, Mac, iPad, and smartphone users are on your own. I have not had the time or resources to test these devices. Point your web browser to freeconferencecall.com. Click on Online Meetings, select Join Meeting For Online Meeting ID enter w7ore then click Submit Put in your name and email address. (It does not have to be a real address. It just has to be formatted properly, e.g. [email protected]) For your name, put what you want to show on everyone's screen, e.g. Michael WA7SKG. Then click Join After a few seconds, you should see whatever I have on my screen at the time. At the top, click on the telephone handset. Choose your audio preference. If you have a microphone and speaker on your computer, then click mic & speakers. If you do not have mic and speakers on your computer, click Telephone and call in by phone using the information at the top of the screen. The computer will tell you to announce yourself. Say Hi. Please, DO NOT click on the video camera icon next to the handset. That's pretty much it. We'll discuss other things when you get checked in. Any problems, please call or text me at 817-313-2002.
