As host, I did need to download and use the the app, but the attendees only needed to use their web browsers.
I installed the FCC application on my Slackware desktop. When I tried it I was shown what looked like a conference page, where and for what I've no idea. Then I closed that window.
Now that I finally got things working the way I wanted, I'll be happy to host any demos anybody might be interested in.
Your description of your conference was explicit and allowed for a variety of participant actions. For a complete newcomer to on-line conferencing such as me are there explicit instructions on the FCC web site (or other location) on how to do all you did in the conference? I'd need a sheet of directions on my desk were I to try the same thing.
