It _ *IS* _ much better than either Duckduckgo or >Google in that respect. OK, I tried it, but it produced a couple of questions. First, I did a search on 'shop insulin syringes' and all the sites that came up gave me prices in either £ or €. My VPN has me connected through a server in Miami, but through the same server DuckDuckGo gives me mostly places in the US, with a scattering from other places. I have no idea if search engines check your location from the server you are connected to, or how they decide what to display. Second, in the lower right corner of each hit it says something like 'duckduckgo qwant startpage cached.' All the hits were cached, but I don't understand where they are cached. I did this search in Chromium on Xubuntu, and I had done the same search yesterday, also in Chromium, so maybe that is where the cache is. But some of them referred to other search engines instead of DuckDuckGo, e.g., Bing, and I have never ever deliberately used Bing. I suppose I need to poke around in the Advanced options. :) _______________________________________________ PLUG: https://pdxlinux.org PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
