It turns out that there is a setting so that it automatically detects your location, and it is turned on by default. Thus, as soon as I launched it I found myself looking at weather for Miami. :( I found the setting and turned off the automatic locate function, and then I tried to change my location to Portland, but the instructions in the GUI misled me - I just typed in 'Portland' and tried to refresh the app, but now all I get is an empty window. I need to find where it keeps its preferences so I can nuke them and start over.
