I've read the ffmpeg docs and understand the words but not the underlying contexts. My web searches for 'digital video' or 'video stream' return hits for digital cameras and video streaming servers.
ffmpeg has many options and I'd like to understand them so I can record video from my webcam (or digital video camera) and audio from microphones and know what I'm doing to get the output I want. Pointers to books, web sites, and other resources needed.
