Debian/Devuan is a fine desktop. Well, At least Devuan is. It comes by
default with an XFCE environment instead of GNOME3. Also with
LibreOffice and all the other tools. No systemd either.

I was intending to us Debian with MATE as that is what I use.
When I moved from Windows I found Gnome2 comfortable.
Gnome3 is a pain.
I'll have to check XFCE to see how comfortable that transition might be.
