Libreoffice usually, but it also helps to understand what it is they are using word for. A few people I know that work in publishing ended up not being able to switch because the gear the people use to set up printers for their books required quirk for quirk compatibility with word, and the people didn't know how to accept postscript even though I'm 99% sure thier gear took PS. If you end up in an odd case like that word runs well in wine.
