How does the computer know the printer is available?
What should I be reading?
Thanks again.

You'll need the brand and model of the printer before reading anything on that subject. You also need to know if the printer is on the network or if it is plugged in directly via USB.

Normally you would just run a web search but do to that you need to feed the algorithm more specific details. Vague questions will give google search a bad case of indigestion.
