Dell has had a few good laptops over the years, but they're all a lot heavier than they need to be for the features they offer, and they've also had some models that give lemons a bad name. Beyond that, their customer service and tech support definitely leave something to be desired.
By the way, does Dell still offer their 3-year parts and labor, on-site support warranty? I had that for 3 years, and had a Dell rep out to my house to replace parts on my laptop on more occasions than I can remember. It was terrific.
