Yup. Redhat 9 doesn't support SATA and there's probably no way to get it to either since it only has a 2.4 kernel. SATA support started somewhere in the Fedora core realm, or with RedHat Enterprise Linux about version 3 (CentOS is the free equivalent of RHEL).
