Yes. In 1975 Newsweek printed an article about the looming
devastation that is GLOBAL COOLING. That's right. In the 70's, the
scientific community was railing on governments, world leaders, and
us (the unwashed ignorant public) about how a second ice age was
coming and we needed to act now before we all DIE!! Solutions such as
melting the polar ice caps were proposed. Now it's GLOBAL WARMING!!!!
AHHHH!!! RUN!!!

Science is imperfect. More accurately, scientists are imperfect.
They have emotions, agendas, world views, and they need a paycheck
from time to time. Eggs are good for you, no eggs are bad for you
(PROVEN by science), no eggs are good for you (PROVEN by science), no
eggs are bad for you... Weee.

Over the last 100 years that we've been measuring the earth's climate,
the official global temperature has raised 9/10ths of 1 degree. Wooo!
Watch yourselves! It's the CLAW!! Sounds more like we have
scientists who need more grant money and nothing stirs that up like
global panic over certain death for us and our children. Yawn.

I don't not believe in global climate change, I just don't think
mankind has much of any impact on it whatsoever... And if we do, I
just want to know how big of an SUV I need to buy to get the average
temperature up another 9 degrees. I'm still cold.

Yes, the globe is warming. Yes, the globe was cooling. It is a cycle, like everything else in nature. Our earth will warm a little then cool a little. Like high tide and low tide. Just like the sun goes through an 11 year cycle. Some year there are more sun spots than others. Cycles people. I agree that this whole getting crazy about global warming is just a way to hype people and even, as Bryan suggests, drum up more moola for the scientists who really know that their claims are exagerated.
