I'll be moving to Logan soon, and I'm looking for a good broadband ISP
there that will also give me a static IP address. So I know that I can
get QWEST DSL, but are there any alternatives? I want at least 1.5 mbps
down, and 867 mbps up. I don't think I'm going to get the same level of
service I get in Spanish Fork with 6 down / 1.5 up.
Comcast is a decent option in Cache Valley as long as you don't move into an
area where you're sharing uplink with college student housing. Comcast, like
any cable-Internet offering, is a shared-bandwidth scenario.
When I lived in Hyrum, I never felt any kind of speed impediment.
Having said that, as soon as Qwest DSL was available in Hyrum, I
Comcastigated myself and jumped to XMission DSL right away. Comcast is
nice... when it works. When it doesn't work, it's near impossible to get
anyone on the phone who will admit there's a problem or that it's not your
fault.
Finally, for all you people looking for ISPs, check out this free service
we've been maintaining for some years now:
