Using the right equipment you can get 10 miles easily. My company is a wireless ISP and we use some 802.11 equipment. Those radios don't report actual distances so I can only estimate, but 10-15 miles is definitely possible. The problems with using 802.11 is that so many people have 2.4GHz equipment now that interference is at every corner. A company in Idaho Falls shot a 2.3mbps (actual speed) signal 137.2 miles. It wasn't 802.11, but was using 2.4GHz between two mountain tops. http://news.com.com/New+wireless+record+claimed/2100-7351_3-5835374.html Corey /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
