Pay isn't the only thing, and many people forget to include how much their benefits are worth. If I work for a company that doesn't provide or help pay for health insurance, in some cases that may as well be a cut in pay. I'll give the following example, say that I have to go get my own health insurance because my company doesn't offer group health insurance. Realistically this may cost about $640/month for family coverage, and in Utah, won't include dental insurance. Now say I work for a company that offers a group health plan (with dental insurance) and they pay a large portion of my premium, thus my portion is $240/month. That's an extra $400/month or $4800/year. So if you only compare salaries, you may actually be taking a cut in pay.
