I wholeheartedly agree, either one of approval or condorcet (IRV, are
these subtly different or basically the same thing?) would be a huge
improvement.

Don't get me started on this. ;) #utah regulars can tell you why.
Although I disagree with people voting 'strategically' I do recognize it
happens and anything that can be done to decrease the practice would be
gratuitously beneficial.

Again, I agree, and this is good to hear, but I'm more focused on the
infrastructure than the specific protocols. Both a paper ballot and an
electronic infrastructure could easily support these methods and more.
