Here is a question about PHP, though. Why is it not so desirable?
Obviously you've never used it :). Actually I am a PHP user I've tried
using other stuff, but I have found I can implement web pages much
faster in PHP than anything else I've tried. That could be just
familiarity. PHP is mostly focused for creating web pages and has a lot
of features that are specifically geared towards that, that I am unaware
of in other languages. That said PHP is inconsistent over implemented
and has horrible half implemented object orientation.
What
ought to be used in its place?
I think most people would say python or ruby. I've never used ruby, but
felt like Python was clunk for web development(how ever I was told I
should try pylons for using python for web development).
