How do I change my default settings to the higher screen resolution? I
am NOT given the option in the <System><Preferences><Screen
Resolution> dialog so I must change it elsewhere.
Try the System->Preferences->Screens and Graphics dialog. That'll allow
you to specify the type of screen(s) you have. Once that is set
correctly, you should have the correct range of options available in the
Screen Resolution dialog.
