I was kind of hinting that you should google a bit for "Moonlight." Expanding on what he said, Moonlight[1] is a complete, GPL'd implementation of silverlight that's nearing parity with MS's native windows version. It's available on many platforms including PPC, i386, x86_64, MIPS, Sparc, etc. It's also available on many Unix platforms, Linux, and OS X. In fact MS has stated a while back that they'd rely on Novell to handle these platforms. Microsoft is actually much more open than Adobe in this case. Their APIs are fairly stable and well-documented. It's much easier for the Mono project to reimplement it on the free stack than it is for the gnash team to try to implement Adobe's stack. The downside is that Mono is deemed as a risky technology to bet the farm on, because of MS's patent claims/rumors.
