Name Based Virtual Hosting is what you're thinking of. And yes, it's
very possible. Only
reason to need multiple IPs is if you have SSL sites.
If I were to venture guess at the statistics I would say that 75% of
all web sites in the world are sharing an IP address with other web
sites.
