Dear Plug,

I am currently looking for an e commerce solution for an antique and
bookstore. The requirements for the e commerce software are:

    * It must be able to have many different categories.

    * (optional) Free (Open source is a plus).

    * Either subdomains with unified logins or EXCELLENT separation and
      custimization between categories. For example:
o http://books.confettiantiques.com/ goes to the books while
            http://antiques.confettiantiques.com/ goes to antiques. Both
            have unified logins, etc.
          o OR http://www.confettiantiques.com/books/ goes to a book
oriented part of the store and
            http://www.confettiantiques.com/antiques/ goes to the
antique oriented. Different menus, etc on the different
categories is a requirement if done this way.
    * Extensible (plugins).
    * PayPal and Google Checkout support.
    * Importing of products via CSV or what not would be nice.
    * Preferably something written in Ruby.

I have looked around a little and have come across Spree
(http://spreecommerce.com/). Has anyone had any experience with it? Does
it do what I want? Does it get close?

Thanks in advance!
