Familiarity with the material was a primary reason for seeking the advice of the list who I assume are technically proficient enough to understand the material presented. As for BS, yes I would prefer anyone in the audience have BS preferably in Computer Science, but I've known many competent programmers who never bothered to get a degree, so it's not requisite. All that would be requisite is an understanding of programming fundamentals, and hopefully some Java experience, since the examples given would be written in Java.
