I develop on a Mac.  I do not have one new enough to have a Thunderbolt port.  
I just use a Mini Display Port to DVI adapter to connect to a nice Dell monitor 
(Dell2005FPW).  My two screens are the one on my Mac Book Pro 15 inch and the 
Dell 20 inch.
