Ditto. I've used two separate Pi model Bs in this exact scenario and haven't had any issues. I assume you've checked alsamixer to make sure the analog audio out is cranked? Either way, I'm about to replace a B with a B+ for my jukebox, so I'll let you know if I hear a significant difference in volume between the two.
