Well, for anyone else who may have the low-volume issue I do, the B+ is not the way to go. While I do like the board layout much more, and like having a couple more USB ports, the volume level is pretty much the same. I'll be looking into mini amplifiers, or seeing if there's something I can do with alsa to pump out a little bit more power.
